More than a first class

Your invitation includes more than one class.

Capoeira connects movement, music, strategy, culture, and human connection. Your resources are designed to make the experience easier to understand and more valuable from the beginning.

01

Learn with context

See the foundations behind what you are practicing, rather than trying to memorize movements without understanding the larger path.

02

Build at your pace

Beginner progress is built through regular practice, clear guidance, and small improvements that compound over time—not perfection on day one.

03

Join something shared

Music, movement, and the roda make this a social practice. You learn with people, not in isolation.

Your first class

Come as you are. We will guide the first steps.

You do not need previous Capoeira, martial arts, fitness, rhythm, flexibility, or acrobatics experience. Your first class is built around accessible movement, clear instruction, and a welcoming group environment.

01

Arrive and settle in

Bring water, put away your belongings, and get comfortable in the space before training begins.

02

Warm up and move

Class begins with mobility and movement to help your body get ready at a pace you can follow.

03

Learn together

You will explore beginner foundations, rhythm, and the shared practice of training with the group.

A useful first goal

Leave with a clearer picture of the path.

The goal is not to prove anything in one class. It is to experience the environment, understand how beginners are supported, and decide what you would like to learn next.

Prepare

A few simple things before you arrive.

The details below are all you need for a comfortable first visit.

What to bring

Bring water. There is space at the studio for your bag, shoes, keys, phone, and other personal belongings.

What to wear

Wear comfortable clothing that lets you move freely; pants are preferred. Classes are normally barefoot. If you need shoes, use clean indoor training shoes, not street shoes.

Arrive early

Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your first class so you can park, enter, and find the studio without rushing.

Before you arrive

Complete your waiver.

All students need to complete the waiver before arriving. It opens securely in a new tab; this page does not collect any personal information.

A deeper look

Why Capoeira is different.

When you have time, watch this longer introduction to see why the practice is more than a workout, a dance, or a single set of movements.

Capoeira Is More Than You Think

A personal part of the experience

Music to keep the feeling moving.

Capoeira has always been tied to rhythm, listening, songs, and the energy people create together. This playlist is a small part of what I enjoy—Capoeira songs, Brazilian music, and other sounds that stay with me.

Use it your way. Put it on while you stretch, take a walk, get ready for class, or simply when you want to keep a little of the experience with you between visits.

About your teacher

Before I teach a movement, I want you to know what I am trying to share.

I began training Capoeira in 1996 and started teaching in the early 2000s. After many years inside the art, what continues to matter to me is not collecting movements or turning people into copies of someone else. It is helping each person discover what becomes possible when they keep learning, growing, and moving.

Capoeira has taught me that a challenge can also be an invitation: to pay attention, adapt, listen, build real relationships, and find a more honest way of showing up. That is the atmosphere I work to create in class. You do not need to arrive knowing the language of the art. You only need curiosity, respect for the space, and a willingness to try.
