Capoeira Classes FAQ
-
I've never done Capoeira before. Is it too late to start?
Actually, that’s exactly why our program is perfect for you! Most of our students started with zero Capoeira experience — and that’s how Mestre Cabeção prefers it, so you build good habits from day one.
Starting fresh in Capoeira is a real advantage because you have no bad habits to unlearn. Our beginner-friendly classes, expert guidance, and welcoming community help you grow with confidence at your own pace.
The truth is, the best time to start Capoeira was 20 years ago — but the second-best time is today. In Brazil, we say, “Quem não arrisca, não petisca” — nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Would you like to experience this for yourself? Our trial class is designed for beginners just like you — curious, motivated, and wanting to feel supported while exploring something new.

What age is appropriate for Capoeira? Is my child too young/old?
Capoeira truly is for every age — in Brazil, we say “Capoeira não tem idade,” meaning anyone can experience the benefits, no matter their stage of life or fitness level.
For kids and teens, Capoeira builds respect, confidence, and self-expression through movement, music, and cultural education, while helping them grow stronger, more focused, and socially connected in a fun, supportive environment.
Adults love how Capoeira combines fitness, stress relief, and Brazilian traditions, with classes adapted for every stage of life — from high-energy training to gentle movement, all within a welcoming, supportive community.
Families enjoy learning together, creating meaningful memories and stronger bonds while exploring Brazilian culture, developing new skills, and sharing the joy of movement — all in one fun, family-friendly experience.

I'm not very athletic/flexible. Can I still do Capoeira?
Perfect! You’re exactly who Capoeira was made for. Many of our most successful students started exactly where you are — no experience, no pressure, just the desire to learn and grow step by step.
The truth is, Capoeira develops you over time. You don’t need to be flexible, strong, or athletic to start — Capoeira makes you that way through fun, gentle, progressive movement that feels natural.
It’s all about progress, not perfection. In Brazil, we say “Devagar se vai ao longe” — slowly one goes far. With every small step, your confidence, strength, and flexibility build in a supportive way.
Would you like to see how gentle and welcoming our approach is? Our trial class is made for beginners just like you — no pressure, no judgment — just a fun, supportive environment to start your journey.

How much does it cost? Is it worth the investment?
I love that you’re thinking about value — that means you’re serious about making the right choice. Our students consistently say this is the best investment they’ve made for themselves, their family, and their future.
With us, you’re not just paying for classes — you’re getting authentic Brazilian culture, expert instruction, community support, and personal growth all in one. It replaces gym memberships, therapy, and separate activities with a complete experience.
Most families realize within one class how much they’ve been missing. The fitness, confidence, cultural knowledge, and community bonds you build here stay with you long after your first month.
Want to experience it for yourself? Our trial class lets you see everything firsthand — no pressure, just an opportunity to feel why so many say this was their best investment.

How much time do I need to commit? I have a very busy schedule.
I completely get it — everyone in Miami is busy, which is exactly why our program is designed for real life. Flexible class times and a supportive community help you make this fit your schedule.
Most students only invest 2 to 3 hours per week — less than a gym trip or Netflix binge — and in that time, they build strength, reduce stress, and learn Brazilian culture.
It’s not just a workout — it’s fitness, stress relief, cultural education, and community all rolled into one. That’s why busy parents, professionals, and business owners choose Capoeira to recharge.
Want to see how this works for your schedule? Let’s set up a trial period — just 2 weeks, no pressure — and you’ll see why this time investment is completely worth it.

What exactly happens in a class? What should I expect?
Great question — I love walking new students through what to expect. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be welcomed by Mestre Cabeção, meet the community, and experience a fun, beginner-friendly, Brazilian environment.
Your first class combines movement, music, and culture — starting with gentle warm-ups, learning the basic ginga, building confidence, and even trying authentic instruments like the berimbau in a supportive, no-pressure space.
By the end, you’ll participate in the roda, our traditional circle, where students clap, sing, and encourage each other — no judgment, just fun, culture, and real community connection.
Most people leave feeling energized, curious, and excited to return. Want to experience it for yourself? Our trial class is designed for beginners exactly like you — I’d love to help you schedule it.
