Mestre Cabeção (Julio Arruda dos Santos) has been my teacher from 2014 to present. From the very first day we’ve met, I’ve seen his dedication and passion for capoeira through his teachings. His eye for detail and willingness to explain every single movement and concept have helped me understand capoeira deeply. He knows how to make training sessions fun, and he also knows how to make it intense, which is a great mix for students to always keep motivated. He shows professionalism at all times. Not only is he a great teacher, but he’s also an inspiration to me with his beautiful and technical style of capoeira. Outside the world of capoeira, he is a trustworthy person, a great friend, and also a brother that I can always depend on. He goes out of his way to ensure that the people around him (new or old friends) are comfortable and respected at all times. Mestre Cabeção will be my teacher as long as I am alive and well enough to play capoeira!
