INTRO PROGRAM:
Our intro capoeira program for new students is broken down into 3-month segments. In the intro program, you will learn basic capoeira flow, attacks, and defenses, along with moves to increase strength and flexibility.
This program is focused on developing the 4 basics of capoeira:
Each class devotes time to a different basic capoeira movement, so students have the opportunity to learn and develop every move.
The choice is yours whether you want to advance to the next level or stay in your current level.
When you step up a level, you can still participate in all classes from previous levels.
Even thought the choice is yours, there are some basic requirements to move up a level.
You must complete 70% of the previous level in order to move up. Completion can be through participation in the program and/or extra work outside class. More information can be found in the book related to your program level.
Price is not based on how many classes you take in a week, but on the value of each level of classes, and also on the commitment you are making to grow in capoeira.
The Intro Program is divided in two parts: Intro 1 (3 months) and Intro 2 (3 months)
Intro 1: This program is focused on developing the 4 basics of capoeira: ginga, escapes, attacks, and acrobatics. We also work on building strength.
Intro 2: We focus on 1) developing mobility, balance, and agility; 2) elements that will help students to play capoeira safely, like direction and distance; and 3) self expression!
The Fundamental Program is divided in two parts: Fundamental 1 (6 months) and Fundamental 2 (1 year)
Fundamental 1: This level focuses on building speed, endurance, and power. We also focus on incorporating all the elements we have learned so far into the capoeira game, to have a more engaged conversation with your partner.
Fundamental 2: Here we focus on behavior in the “roda”: understanding different situations and all the elements that make up the game, how to move inside the roda, how to buy a game, etc. Now is the time to build up your capoeira vocabulary.
This program is divided in two parts: Intermediate 1 (1 year) and Intermediate 2 (1 year).
We will focus on understanding the different capoeira styles and how to adapt our game.
This program is divided in two parts: Advanced 1 (1 year) and Advanced 2 (1 year).
Now we will work to sharpen your capoeira and also go deeply into our school’s style, to understand what makes Cordão de Ouro unique.
At this point, you can decide if you want to start teaching and working with capoeira!
