What is a capoeira batizado?
The batizado is a graduation ceremony where new students receive their first capoeira cordão (belt), after playing with visiting masters. This is a "baptism" when you are officially welcomed into the art form.

You can start paying for the batizado now and save.

If you wait until the event, the full price for students is $200. We offer early payment and installment plan options if you want to start paying now and save money.

This is a very exciting time in a capoeirista's journey. The batizado is usually celebrated with a whole weekend of events, with invited guests and participants from other capoeira groups. This allows students to experience different aspects of capoeira and Brazilian culture, and to make new friends. Students play capoeira with the guest teachers and receive their new capoeira belts. The batizado is a special celebration for the capoeira community and is a great reward for the year's hard work!
