PARENT RULES & GUIDELINES

Creating a Safe, Respectful, and Focused Space for Your Child and Others

Please read carefully. These rules are here to ensure that every child has the best experience possible at our Capoeira studio. When parents follow these expectations, it helps us keep the environment safe, productive, and enjoyable for all.

VERY IMPORTANT – BEFORE CLASS STARTS:

  1. NO PARENT PARTICIPATION DURING CLASS
➤ Once class begins, please allow the teacher to lead.
➤ Do not coach, call out to, or interrupt your child or the instructor.
➤ This is the child’s time to learn, explore, and build trust with their teacher.

  2. NO PHONES IN CLASS
➤ If you need to take a call or talk, please step outside.
➤ No loud phone conversations or videos in the waiting area.

  3. STAY IN THE WAITING AREA ONLY
➤ Please use the designated waiting areas or the gym if available.
➤ Do not sit or stand in the training space—even when class is not active.
➤ Our class uses the entire studio, and your presence may distract or block the training.

  4. KEEP NOISE TO A MINIMUM
➤ Children are easily distracted. Please keep conversations quiet.
➤ If you arrive early, stay quiet until your class begins.

  5. NO FOOD IN THE STUDIO
➤ Food is not allowed inside the training area or waiting space.
➤ Please feed your child before arriving or after leaving.

  6. NO SHOES ON THE TRAINING FLOOR
➤ We use our hands, feet, and sometimes heads on the floor.
➤ Remove your shoes if you enter the training area, even to wait.

  7. WATER BOTTLES GO ON THE CABINETS
➤ To avoid spills and clutter, please place water bottles on top of the designated cabinets or fridge.

DRESS CODE & HYGIENE

  1. PROPER CLOTHING REQUIRED
➤ Uniforms are not required for beginners, but proper clothing is.
➤ Long pants are preferred—no shorts, especially for girls.
➤ No dresses, skirts, or clothes that limit safe movement.

  2. CLEAN CLOTHES & PERSONAL HYGIENE
➤ Please make sure your child arrives clean and in freshly washed clothing.
➤ Good hygiene is part of showing respect to others.

SCHEDULE, SUPERVISION, & SAFETY

  1. ARRIVE 5 MINUTES EARLY
➤ This helps your child settle and get ready to begin.
➤ If you’re more than 10 minutes late, message us directly.
➤ After 15 minutes late with no notice, your child may not be allowed to join class.

  2. KNOW YOUR SCHEDULE & STICK TO IT
➤ Please keep your child on a consistent weekly class schedule.
➤ If you need to switch days, notify us first. Do not just show up.
➤ Each group is planned based on who's coming. Consistency helps your child and the group progress.

  3. DROP OFF & PICK UP ON TIME
➤ Make sure your child is dropped off and picked up at the correct times.
➤ If you are not staying during class, make sure your child is supervised before and after.
➤ We are not responsible for supervising children outside of class hours.

  4. FILL OUT ALL REQUIRED FORMS
➤ All parents must complete emergency contact and waiver forms before your child participates in class.

  5. ACCIDENT POLICY
➤ While we work hard to keep every child safe, accidents can happen.
➤ If an injury occurs, we will immediately notify the parent/guardian listed on the emergency form.
➤ Minor injuries will be treated with basic first aid.
➤ For serious injuries, we will follow emergency protocol and call for medical assistance if needed.

Thank you for trusting us with your child. Capoeira is more than a martial art—it’s a path to confidence, community, and culture. With your support, we can create a safe, respectful space for every student to grow and shine.
